Nicasa is a not-for-profit behavioral health services organization that is helping build brighter futures for vulnerable and at-risk children, adults, and families in Lake County and northern Illinois. Special Information Placement
BSW full time, MSW 1st year students, MSW (2nd year and Advanced Standing Standing), (clinical) Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW. Students are responsible for their own transportation, and travel is not reimbursed by the agency. A stipend is not available. Students are required to provide liability insurance through the school but are also covered under Nicasas’s liability insurance. Video and audio recording are not permitted due to confidentiality purposes and HIPAA rules and regulations. Agency hours are dependent upon location placement; please see our website at www.nicasa.org. Evening and weekend hours are available at some locations. Public transportation, ay be available dependent upon the site location. Students are required to complete several background checks including DCFS, criminal state, and FBI.OIG, and Healthcare Worker Registry. Students are also required to complete a drug screen and submit a 2 step TB test reading (2 negative results), at the expense of Nicasa. Official transcripts are required for current educational status.
