Information

We serve victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, homicide, and other violent crimes through crisis response, advocacy, therapy, and community awareness.  We provide crisis intervention and advocacy, information about Victim’s rights. 24-hour crisis response to hospitals, law enforcement agencies, and crime scenes; we have specialized Sexual assault nurse Examiners and forensic exams, the site at The Butterfly House.  We provide Criminal Justice e Advocacy and court accompaniment for all victims, individual and Group Therapy, Community Outreach, Green dot program and assistance with Victims Compensation application process.  All of our services are provided at no cost to the victim.  We serve all ages.  We provide opportunities for student interns to experience the micro, mezzo, and Macro aspects of social work.  We provide BS opportunity to work as an advocate and MSW students as therapy interns.

Special Placement Information

BSW Fulltime, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and advanced Standing, (Social Policy and Administration) (clinical) part-time BSW and part-time MSW.  Students will need transportation to get to their placement.  If they go out into the field they will not use own vehicle.  Travel is not reimbursed.  There is no stipend available.  Agency hours are 8 to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.  Does the University provide professional insurance coverage for students?  The agency is accessible by bus.  There is a background check by the agency.
