Agency Description:

Saint Francis ministries is contracted through the state of Nebraska to perform ongoing case management for families involved in CPS. Saint Francis works with these families to achieve long term permanency and sustainability and to address the trauma, abuse, and neglect that occurred up to the point of ongoing case management. Saint Francis serves all of Douglas and Sarpy county in the state of Nebraska. Age ranges of our clientele range from infant to geriatric as there is no specified age range. Saint Francis has many different roles within our agency. The primary function is to perform case management in which the case manager is responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the children we are referred to work with. Saint Francis is responsible for referring for services, participating in court hearings networking within our community and partnering with local agencies to serve our clients. Saint Francis also has foster care programming in which we sign on prospective foster parents.

Special Placement Information:

Students are required to receive liability insurance. St Francis does have company vehicles; however, students are no allowed to utilize this and are required to provide their own transportation. St Francis does reimburse for mileage, however. Saint Francis does not provide a stipend to our students at this time. Students are not able to video record confidential information unless authorized by the parent or legal guardian of the children. Interns are welcome to utilize cases and change up any case specific information (i.e. change name, gender, age range, etc.) Saint Francis working hours are set from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Saint Francis has a Triage Team which serves our families altogether from 5:00 pm to 2:00 am in which an on-call rotation is put in place from 2:00 am to 8:30 am. Saint Francis does have evening hours depending on client availability as some families are only able to meet in the evening time. Evening and weekend hours are available if the intern is willing to work the on-call hours or shadow the on-call team intermittently as calls come through.  Saint Francis is down the street from the Metro Bus stop and is accessible by public transportation.
