Sunrise of Pasco County, Inc. is a dually certified center for domestic violence and sexual assault survivors and has an extensive array of services including: 24/7 Emergency Shelter/housing for victims of domestic and/or sexual violence and their families; 24-hour hotline with staff ready to assist individuals in their time of need; advocacy; accompaniment to court and/or to Sexual Assault Victims Exam (S.A.V.E.); help with Legal (advocates provide assistance navigating the legal arena and court systems as well as attorneys to represent survivors through the injunction process); individual and/or support group counseling for adults and children; extensive prevention and education programs that involve Middle to High School students and promote healthy relationships; and, the Solutions Thrift Store helps fund the emergency shelter, as well as provide clothing and furniture to participants as needed. All the services are free and available to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault without regard to age, gender, race, color, creed, sexual orientation, or physical ability.
Job duties vary depending on location. Internship opportunities are available in direct service and non­ direct service.
•    Meets with primary and/or secondary victims and/or their significant other irrespective of the assault being / not being reported to law enforcement.
•    On-Call to accompany non-reporting victims of sexual assault to S.A.V.R exams.
•    Provides domestic violence and/or sexual assault services to Sunrise participants based on individual needs.
•    Coordinates services for victims with other agencies in the community.
•    Provides or arranges for legal advocacy for victims of sexual and/or domestic violence.
•    Facilitate meeting/support groups of primary and/ or secondary survivors of sexual violence with a supportive, personal growth and / or educational focus.
•    Maintains participant records in accordance with Sunrise's requirements.
•    Maintains and compiles statistics of participants served and completes reports as required by funding agency in a timely fashion.
•    Provide crisis intervention services to victims of domestic and/or sexual violence
•    Provides community education/awareness to schools, civic groups and other interested parties on identifying and helping victims of domestic and sexual violence.
•    Maintains active community involvement as it relates to services.
•    Assists with event planning for community awareness and Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Awareness Months.

Special placement information:

Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/advanced standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Transportation required. No travel reimbursement and no stipend.
Liability insurance not required.
Video-/audio-taping permitted with prior permission.
Hours vary depending on location. Administration and Outreach, Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 5:00PM. Shelter and Hotline, 24/7. 
Shelter and the West location are accessible by bus.
Agency adheres to CDC COVID-19 protocols.
Direct service interns required to complete mandatory trainings (CORE Competency, ACT, and agency training)
Background, motor vehicle record checks, and fingerprinting required.
