Windmoor Healthcare of Clearwater is an inpatient psychiatric and medical detox facility providing crisis stabilization and medical detox to adults of all ages living in Tampa Bay and the surrounding area. We provide services to individuals suffering from disorders including, but not limited to; Major Depressive Disorder, Schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder, PTSD, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder Personality Disorders, Dissociative Disorders, Substance Use Disorders as well as others.  The social work dept. provides services that include Bio-psychosocial assessment, treatment planning, group and individual therapy, coordination of care, and discharge planning. Staff members and interns within the dept. need to have strong written and verbal communication skills, skills in interviewing and counseling techniques, the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment, engage clients through therapeutic processes, manage groups of clients, and provide crisis management and de-escalation as needed.

Special Placement Information

The Agency is accepting BSW Full time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical Students, Part-time BSW, and Part-time MSW.  Students will need to provide their transportation to and from the facility. No travel is required. Students must be covered under university liability insurance and provide proof of coverage before starting internship hours within the facility. Video and audio taping is only permitted with prior consent and approval from the Director of Clinical Services at Windmoor Healthcare. Facility social work dept. hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm. Weekend hours are available with prior approval from the Director of Clinical Services at Windmoor Healthcare. The facility is located near a PTSA bus stop for students traveling by bus. Students will be required to pass pre-employment background
screenings and new hire orientation before starting internship hours.
