Lisa Jackson

Lisa Jackson is an assistant teaching professor with expertise in identifying and addressing the biopsychosocial and broad-level factors that inhibit the well-being and academic progress of college students with a history of foster care or homelessness. She also has experience in clinical service provision and organizational management. Dr. Jackson serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth, where she is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee and co-chairs the Post-Secondary Education Subcommittee.

Dr. Jackson is a three-time graduate of Florida State University, earning a doctoral degree in higher education student affairs, a Master of Social Work degree and a bachelor's in psychology. Her research focuses on postsecondary educational outcomes of students who have experienced foster care or homelessness. As a licensed clinical social worker in Florida, she provides counseling services through her private practice. In 2018, Ms. Jackson received the Child Welfare Champion Award from Florida's Department of Children and Families.
