Lisa Jackson

Lisa Jackson is an assistant teaching professor. Her areas of expertise include identifying and addressing biopsychosocial and system-level factors inhibiting the well-being and academic progress of foster care alumni and students experiencing homelessness in higher education, as well as clinical service provision and organizational management. She serves on the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children and Youth’s Post-Secondary Education Subcommittee and was appointed to the State of Florida Independent Living Services Advisory Council by the Department of Children and Families in 2023. Ms. Jackson is pursuing a Ph.D. in Higher Education - Student Affairs at Florida State and serves on multiple research projects regarding the postsecondary educational outcomes of former foster youth. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and provides counseling services through her private practice. Ms. Jackson was a 2018 recipient of the Child Welfare Champion Award from Florida’s Department of Children and Families.
