Information

The Youth Outpatient Program is an adolescent outpatient substance abuse treatment program.  Admission is voluntary for persons 11 to 18 years of age seeking treatment for chemical abuse, dependence or other related issues.  The primary mission of the program is to promote the well-being of individuals, families, and significant others who are adversely affected by problems of drug and alcohol abuse.  The treatment philosophy of Youth Outpatient Services is to reduce barriers to accessing appropriate treatment by providing a comprehensive continuum of services from intervention level services to referral for residential treatment.  A holistic approach to treatment is utilized to promote and enhance self-sufficiency, self-esteem, and resolution of issues underlying the problems of chemical dependency.  Co-occurring mental health disorders are treated in an integrated manner and individualized goals of youth are addressed including anger management, depression, anxiety, life-management skills, educational and vocational goals.

The Youth Outpatient Program offers therapeutic counseling for clients in need of individual and family counseling and education.  Persons receiving outpatient treatment are frequently involved in other services such as family counseling, primary health care, peer support groups, vocational services and medical management. It is the intent of the Youth Outpatient Program to facilitate the providing of these services in an integrated, efficient and effective manner.

Sessions are held once a week or more if needed.  Referrals may be made to address additional or specialized services.  The combination of this wide array of in-house services and use of outside referrals for unmet needs allows the Youth Outpatient Program to serve a variety of clients.
