St. Lucie County Public schools serves the students of Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie, FL. We are a school district of approximately 40,000 students and 3,000 staff members. We employ 8 school social workers to serve our entire school body. In the district, school social workers provide services to students and their families by making referrals for services, assisting with psycho-educational evaluations, small group and individual counseling and social skill training. We also monitor truancy issues and participate in a variety of problem solving processes at individual schools.
Special Information
FT& PT positions available for BSW, MSW, MSW 2nd yr & Advanced Standing;clinical students. School social workers follow the calendar of a 10-month employee within the school district. No summer placements. We work 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday. A means of transportation will be needed and mileage will not be reimbursed by the district. No stipends are available at this time. Fingerprinting and drug screening is required at the student's expense. No summer hours are available.
