On May 5, 2016 the University of Kentucky College of Social Work (UK CSW) inducted two new members into its Hall of Fame including Florida State University College of Social Work Dean Jim Clark, along with Margaret Hazelette a school social worker and educator known for her advocacy of social work licensure and social justice for all those that social work serves.

The UK CSW inducted its first members into the Hall of Fame in 1999. Since then, each year the College recognizes the distinguished accomplishments of its social work alumni who have made exceptional contributions to the field of social work. The distinction of being inducted into the Hall of Fame deems these individuals outstanding in their profession by their colleagues, and they are chosen by a committee of their peers.

“I feel deeply honored to join my outstanding colleagues who have been inducted into the UK College of Social Work Hall of Fame,” Clark said about this honor. “I am grateful each day for the intelligence and generosity that were the hallmarks of the MSW faculty when I was a very ‘green’ social work student. They were wise mentors who showed me how to live a meaningful life as a social work professional and educator. I carry them in my heart.”

Dean Clark served as director of the School of Social Work at the University of Cincinnati from 2012 until 2015 and was on the faculty of the University of Kentucky College of Social Work from 1991 until 2012.  He has published extensively in the areas of forensic mental health, child traumatic stress, ethics and accountability, and psychobiography and the study of lives. Clark is a clinician, educator, and researcher.  He received his Master’s degree from the University of Kentucky College of Social Work.

He was present at the Hall of Fame induction ceremony that took place at the Landsdown Signature Club in Lexington, Kentucky to receive his award. UK CSW Dean Emeritus Kay Hoffman and Professor Robert Walker made introductory remarks and Interim Dean Ann Vail presented the award.
