The Collaborative Internship for All (CIA) program's primary function is to increase the pipeline of school-based mental health practitioners to increase access to mental health services for students, employees, and families in its high-need school. The population served are students in elementary, middle and high schools, the District’s emotional/behavioral centers, and Employee Assistance Program. The role of the school social workers is to ultimately help children and families when they encounter barriers that impact a child's academic and social development, by, but not limited to: crisis support and mental health counseling, addressing issues of non-attendance and truancy, completing behavioral assessments, and psychosocial evaluations, individual/group counseling, mentorship, linking families with support services/resources. Additionally, School Social Work Services manages several district-wide specialty programs that directly impact and support the academic achievement and eventual high school graduation of our students.

Special Placement Information

The Agency is accepting MSW Part-time.  The student will require reliable transportation. Travel is not reimbursed by the agency.  Schedule flexibility to participate in district/school wide events and/or student support meetings and activities that are sometimes conducted after school hours and/or on weekends Opportunity for stipend with written consent, video or audio taping may be permitted Student may be asked to facilitate/co-lead/lead a group It is suggested that the student obtain liability insurance    Minimal daily program hours is 7.5.
