Family Service of the Piedmont Inc. is a private non-profit focused on building safe and healthy families. More than 19,000 are served annually via our 4 service divisions: Victim Services; Family Support Services; Out-Patient Mental Health & Substance Abuse; and Consumer Credit Counseling. These divisions encompass numerous programs for a variety of populations. Services are non-exclusive, available to all who are in need, and work to address issues such as: domestic violence; sexual assault; child abuse; healthy parenting; mental health; substance abuse; and financial stability; as well as, community engagement through outreach and education events. Family Service of the Piedmont Inc. has multiple partnerships with other area providers/entities and has several programs that collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team setting, such as with: law enforcement; medical personnel; Legal Aid; Guardian ad Litem office; and the Family Justice Center.
 

BSW Full-time, MSW 1st year students, Part-time BSW and MSW. Interns are expected to be able to provide for their own transportation needs and some commuting/off-site travel
may be required depending on the service program to which the intern is assigned. Travel costs are not reimbursable by the agency nor is there a stipend. Liability insurance is encouraged/preferred but not required. No audio/video recording is permitted
while working directly with clients or within the vicinity where clients are served. The agency does have some programs that operate 24/7 and/or on an -on-call system, interns and volunteers are only permitted to be scheduled within the days/times of a traditional work week i.e. Mon - Fri, 8:30am - 5:00pm. All agency locations are located within walking distance of a bus stop.
