The agency's primary function is to provide resources and supports to school districts within San Diego County. 
The population served is TK-12 grade students. Families and staff in 42 school districts including alternative education, migrant education, and special education settings. Students range in age from 3-21 years of age; have experienced homelessness, child abuse, neglect, incarceration, teenage parents, expulsion, credit deficit, sex trafficking, and immigration issues. 
The role of the school Social Work intern would consist of providing and supporting Mental Health and social emotional needs for students to ensure academic success through case management, crisis intervention, and resources. Social Work interns provide social emotional learning via psychoeducation curriculum therefore supporting classroom environments to ensure students academically achieve.

Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 1st-year students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or weekly testing required.
We accept students who have the desire to work in a school-based setting. If candidates are preferring a more clinical or therapeutic setting, this would not be the setting.
