The system of Care Programs is a program offered to students graded K-12.  This a school-based district program. Social workers and Mental Health Counselors are in schools each day.  Wrap-around Social Services are available to our families.  Our social workers must have an MSW and/or be an RCSW.  MENTAL health counselors must be licensed.  Our program serves the high med school in our district.  We are currently in 10 schools: 6 elementary, 2 middles, 1 high school, 1 center school.  Our social worker responsibilities include the following:  case management, home visits, small group counseling, one-on-one counseling, family counseling, parent meetings, meetings with student support services teams at each school weekly, meeting with placement/field supervisor and program administrator and a minimum of twice a week.

Special Placement Information

BSW full-time, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing, (clinical), Part-time BSW, Part-time MSW.  This is a school-based placement.  The student must provide their own transportation.  There is no stipend, travel reimbursement or liability insurance offered by the School Board of Alachua County.  Videotaping involving students require parental consent.  School hours vary depending on elementary, middle or high school (7:30 AM to 3:30 PM).  Weekend and evening hours would depend on activities/events scheduled at our schools.
