TGH is the West Coast Safety Net Hospital providing world class care from the NICU infant population through the Geriatric Population and everything from transplant to trauma in between.  The SW team member is an integral component of the operation and functioning of the Medical Units. The patient as well as the family, need assistance to understand the medical progression and to make decision of appropriate health care setting - the SW team members help break down the barriers to health care. The focus is on the psychosocial determinant of health - with TGH 's new clinical model, the focus in on the clinical assessment and focus of psychosocial determinant of health inclusive of homelessness, substance abuse, behavior issues, health care surrogacy with the coordination of community resources and appropriate discharge planning twit the Care Coordinator
teammate.

Special Placement Information:

The Agency is accepting MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical.  Tampa General Hospital does not provide a stipend, there is no audio/video taping permitted. Although the hospital is 24/7 care, the position would be MONDAY - FRIDAY with the usual 8:00am- 4:30pm with an occasional weekend or late night.  Bus routes to the hospital are available. The Volunteer Services provides the vetting of our interns.
