Paradigm, Inc is a juman services agency serving children and families in the Southeast Service Area in collaboration with the Nebraska Dept of Health and Human Services-Devision of Children and Families. The emphasis wil be on providing family support, supervised visitation, and intensive familiy preservation (IFP) services for children and families involved with Nebraska’s Child Welfare System.
Practicum students will assist families with goals and outcomes identified by Children and Families Service’s Specialists to provide the aforementioned services. Duties of these individuals include but are not limited to the following:

  • Coordinating and implementing services based on case plans developed and facilitated by a Children and Families Services Specialist to prevent abuse/neglect of children;
  • Supervising children with their caretakers to ensure appropriate, safe interaction;
  • Strengthening families, and/or assisting in providing permanency for children in care;
  • Improving child/parental skill acquisition
  • Improving family functioning
  • Increasing parent/child interactions and community engagement for support with children/youth and families.

Special Information:

BSW and MSW 1st & 2nd Yr; Clinical. Full-time & Part-time.  Students will need a working vehicle to perform the above functions as well as valid and current auto insurance; Students will be pait and hourly rate for the direct services they perform.  This hourly rate shall range from $11 to $16/hour; Students will be covered under the agency’s liability insurance; Video/audio taping is not allowed based on the protected rights of the State Wards; Hours vary based on referral request; Evening and weekend hours are required.
