Leon County Schools Student Services is comprised of School Social Workers, School Psychologists, Guidance Counselors, and Referrals Coordinators.
School Social workers are trained in addressing mental health concerns, behavioral issues, academic and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators, as well as group and individual counseling techniques. School social workers are instrumental in furthering the mission of the schools, which is to provide a setting for teaching, learning, and the attainment of competence and confidence. School social workers are hired by districts to enhance the district's ability to meet its academic mission, especially where home, school, and community collaboration is the key to achieving student success.

The Agency is accepting MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical Students.  -Students would need to have reliable transportation. Limited travel is occasionally necessary within the workday. Hours are generally between 8:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Friday, but the exact start and end times can be adjusted in certain situations.-Students will need to provide proof of personal liability and health insurance. Mileage will not be reimbursed by the district.  There are no summer hours available.
