Area Congregations Together in Service (ACTS) is a non-profit organization based in Richmond, Virginia.  We were started in 2006, modeled after and organization in Charlotte North Carolina, called Crisis Assistance Ministry.  We provide financial assistance to individuals within our community who are experiencing a financial crisis that jeopardizes their housing stability.  We traditionally provide assistance with rent, mortgage, utilities or car payments in order to help keep people housed.  Pre-Covid, we were a small 100% privately funded non-profit providing about 300,000 in direct client services per year.  Post-Covid, we have been designated as one of the central organization servicing the greater Richmond area and thus far have expended over 3 million in direct client services to those financially impacted by Covid.

Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (clinical) students. Full-time positions only.
Intern not required to provide transportation.
Depending on funding, the student continue to be a staff person and be compensated depending on available funding.
Agency hours: Monday-Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM. Agency accessible by pubic transit.
