Information

The CAC works very closely with our multidisciplinary team members from the Department of Human Resources, the District Attorney's Office, and Law Enforcement on cases of child sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and witness to a violent crime.  Trained center staff conduct forensic interviews on children ages 2-17 years old who have allegedly experienced abuse.  If the child discloses abuse, CAC staff offer other services to the child and his/her family member.  Those services include TF-CBT (therapy), advocacy, medical exams, and court preparation.  All of those services are available on site.  In addition to the intervention services offered CAC perform prevention services throughout the county an in the schools.  Prevention services consist of puppet shows, internet safety, and Darkness to Light Stewards of Children.  The CAC also presents a Trans parenting class for divorcing parents and a Rollercoasters class for helping children adjust to change.  CAC staff all assist with fundraising opportunities to help meet the financial demands to cover service delivery at no charge to families.
