Agency Description:

This is a private practice that specializes in trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, neglect, adoption, foster care, etc. Our population age ranges from age 3 and up to the elderly population. We work with many children in the foster care system and domestic violence centers and shelters. We use interventions such as play therapy, sand tray techniques, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy and others. We work to keep family and children together through individual, family, and group therapy sessions.  

Special Information:

 BSW part-time and full-time. MSW part-time and full-time. Dependent upon where the intern is in their training and education (MSW - 1st or 2nd year, BSW - undergrad) tasks/responsibilities may vary. They can include administrative work - input in software program, setting up clients in portal, billing, and paperwork. Creating programs/presentations for groups, Attending local community meetings and/or task forces. Conducting assessments, individual, family, and/or group therapy. There is not much travel required, But interns who are involved in counseling service may rarely be called to testify in court. Mileage reimbursement can be obtained. Liability insurance is necessary (it is usually provided by the school program). Audio/video taping is permitted with client's signed consent. Hours are flexible and weekends are available. COVID-19 vaccination not required.
