Chautaugua is two programs. It is a public charter school for individuals with significant disabilities ages 18-22. It is also a self-sustaining AmeriCorps VISTA program for individuals who have aged out of public education at 22, but are on the Medwaive wait list for services. Both programs learn and gain purpose through service to others. Service projects are directed at the natural constituents-the elderly, other disabled, the young, and the poor. Some project examples include transit training, early education kits, and running a feeding and clothing center for the homeless.
