Clay County District Schools exists to prepare life-long learners for success in a global and competitive workplace and in acquiring applicable life skills, The School District encompasses a 601 square-mile suburban/rural county in Northeast Florida. The district is comprised of 41 brick and mortar schools (27 elementary schools, 6 junior high schools, 6 high schools, one 7-12 school, and one alternative school and Clay Virtual Academy.  Clay currently has 19 social work positions to serve school administrations, students, and families. Social Workers play an integral role in providing and connecting needed resources that enable a student to overcome any barriers they may be facing that could interrupt or prevent their success.
Internship will be completed with Clay County School District. Student will work with school-aged children ranging from 5 - 18. Interns will assist school social workers in daily duties regarding student welfare and wellbeing,

Special Placement Information:

Agency is accepting MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing, (Clinical) Part-time MSW. Clay County follows a predetermined school calendar that is available on our website. Working hours depend upon the designated school hours of the assigned school(s). Weekends and evenings are not available, and we do not provide interns with stipends.  Transportation will not be an issue as group meets in the school setting.  Student will perform majority of internship hours on Mondays.  Student will have opportunities through rest of the week to perform other activities as needed, as well as advocate for the needs of the students
