Communities In Schools (CIS)/ Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Inc. is an affiliate of the National Communities In Schools network - dedicated to helping students stay in school and on a path to success.
CIS places full-time staff/professionals in k-12 schools to connect students to caring adults and community resources that will empower them to be successful. We partner with a host of agencies, organizations, businesses, and faith and community groups to leverage success and support for students and families. CIS works alongside counselors and Social Workers to connect and re-engage students and families to partner with the school.

Special placement information:
Accepting BSW and MSW students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Transportation to school assigned required.
Generally, the college has liability insurance.
Video-/Audio-taping not permitted.
Student may be at placement during normal school hours. No weekend hours available unless an event is scheduled. Occasional evening hours available.
School is accessible by public transit.
