DCF responds to all reports of child abuse or neglect with investigation an emergency services. DCF provides case disposition to families at risk through interviews with child, siblings, parents, perpetrators, neighbors, and extended family members. Tasks performed by students include working side by side with an investigator as he/she assesses the validity of the allegations of child abuse and/or neglect. The student will work with the investigator in interviewing techniques, assessment, and interventions as a case progresses through the investigation process.

Special Information

BSW/MSW, F&PT. Student car required; mostly daytime hours with some evening and weekends required. Students must have background check prior to the start of the internship.
