The Emory Summer Child Advocacy Program (ESCAP) is a summer internship program for law and other graduate students interested in acquiring knowledge and skills, hands-on experience, and practical exposure in child welfare and advocacy-related positions. The program is administered by the Barton Child Law & Policy Center (Barton Center), a program of Emory University School of Law. ESCAP supports grant fund objectives to improve the assessment and investigation of suspected child abuse and neglect cases, including all subtypes and special victims, with a focus on employing research and agreed-upon best practices to promote the best outcomes for children and families, including limiting additional trauma.
