Information

Escondido Union School District is a K-8 Local Educational Agency (LEA).
Under our Integrated Student Supports Department, Social Workers, Social Work interns, Counselors, and Counseling interns provide students, in grade levels K-8, social-emotional supports for their academic, social, emotional, and personal success.
School Social Workers and school Counselors facilitate the coordination of services with students, families, school staff, and community agency staff using a Multi-tiered system of support. (MTSS).  Interns work under the guidance and supervision of their field internship supervisors to provide a variety of support services, including but not limited to: individual counseling, psycho-educational support groups, check-in-check-out mentorship/case management, staff consultation, participation in multi-disciplinary team meetings, participation in parent meetings, attendance, intervention support of school-wide prevention/intervention services, community agency resource linkage, case-management, and crisis intervention support services.
