Information

Espiga Health was established in 2014. Most of our clients are adults and adolescents. A smaller percentage of those we serve are children. Approximately half of the population we serve has an anxiety or trauma related disorder. We also provide substance abuse services up to the intensive outpatient level and facilitate groups.
Intern Job Description:
Interns at Espiga Health will be trained to perform all of the functions of a therapist. Of course accommodations are made to scale the training to the learning contracts or expectations of the education level they are in. Interns will complete intakes/biopsychosocials. administer clinical scales and questionnaires. develop treatment plans. co-facilitate or facilitate groups, individual therapy, and family therapy. It is the expectation that at the end of the semester the student will be fully trained, capable, and confident that they can meet and exceed expectations for a beginning therapist.

Special Placement Information:

Agency is accepting MSW 1st year students, (Clinical) Part-time MSW.  Parking is provided in the buildings parking lot. The student may have to coordinate with other students as there are only two devices to open the doors. Video taping is permitted if consent is acquired. The agency is close to the metro rail Douglas station and a free trolley takes passengers to and from the station. It is also accessible by bus, car, trolley, and scooter (there are scooters all over the city one can use with the appropriate app). Covid 19 vaccinations are encouraged but not required. We follow CDC guidelines for the State of Florida.  This is a good placement for someone interested in making their own mental practice.
