Fresenius Medical Care is the world's leading provider of products and services for individuals with renal diseases.  Fresenius Medical Care Vero Beach primarily provides dialysis services for patients who have been diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease through a multidisciplinary team approach, consisting of RNs, dialysis technicians, Nephrologists, a Social Worker, and a Registered Dietician.  Our patients are 18 years and older. The current age range of the Vero Beach Clinic population is 32-95.  The Social Worker's primary role is to provide education, broker local/state/federal resources, screen for psychosocial barriers to attending and adhering to dialysis treatments and provide crisis and grief counseling services to patients.  The Social Worker also provides support to patients and their families/caregivers, discuss treatment goals, goals of care, and lifestyle goals outside of dialysis.

Special Placement Information

Accepting MSW 1st-year and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing and MSW Part-time.  The student will need to have their reliable transportation to and from the clinic. The agency does not reimburse for travel.  The student does not need liability insurance.  Video and audiotaping are not permitted within the clinic/agency.  The Vero Beach clinic is open from 6 Am to roughly 5 PM, however, the hours for the clinic Social Worker is 8 AM-4:30 PM.

The clinic is open Monday through Saturday; however, the Social Worker would be at the clinic during normal business days (Monday-Friday).
The clinic is on a bus route; however, this bus route is only accessible by the county bus system (Indian River County).
