Institute for Justice Research and Development aims to advance science, policy, and practice to improve well-being of individuals and families impacted by criminal justice system involvement.
Functions of the center: conduct rigorous innovative research (both in scientific discovery and advancing scientific methods), offer high quality educational opportunities for students, and provide cutting edge training and support to professionals.
Population: Currently incarcerated and reentering adults (18+ years).
Role of Student: Student will support the research team in data collection/data management for randomized controlled trial of a prisoner reentry model, assist with basic data analysis, assist with preparation of reports to various stakeholders (e.g. internal team, funders, departments of corrections, community partners, and future adopters), assist with preparation of practice materials (e.g. implementation manuals, logic models), and assist research team with development of telehealth model.
Special placement information:
Accepting MSW 1st-year and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Evening and weekend hours available.
Students will participate in additional group supervision and cross-site meetings for enhanced and professional development.
This field placement will take place at the College of Social Work (at the IJRD).
