Global Ties Alabama (GTA) promotes global peace and understanding through citizen diplomacy.
GTA designs customized programs of study for emerging international leaders selected by American embassies around the globe and sent to AL by the U.S. Department of State. Programs reflect the professional and cultural interests of the visiting leaders and youth ambassadors while supporting the foreign policy goals of the United States. GTA’s programs also include a speaker series entitled Global Perspectives Institute focusing on international issues and a school outreach program introduce K-12 to the global community through electronic pen pal and the international delegation’s visits.

Special placement information:
Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (SL + clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Stipend available.
GTA will submit documentation so student can receive course credit for their work.
Liability insurance covered by agency.
Agency hours: Monday-Friday. Occasional weekend and evening hours.
Video-/Audio-taping permitted with advance approval.
