Gulfside Hospice strives to ensure that every patient is cared for compassionately, comfortably and with dignity, and that every family receives the support they need as their loved one faces an end of life illness.  Gulfside Hospice provides services to residents of Pasco county, primarily adults, who are living at home, in assisted living facilities, and in nursing homes.  Social Workers provide psychosocial support to patients and families to assist them with their end of life journey; they provide resources, referral and linkage to placement in facilities if needed, and supportive counseling is offered by bachelors and masters level employees and student interns.  Gulfside has two inpatient care units which allow patients to receive the 24-hour care they need when they are having unmanaged symptoms in their primary care residence.  If needed, the social workers assist with discharge planning from te inpatient units when symptoms are controlled.  Additional programs that are available to patients and families include volunteer services, nursing care, chaplain support, respite, the Pet Peace of Mind Program, Arts & Soul Program and bereavement services prior to and after the death of a loved one who is on hospice services.
