Healthy Start is a maternal and child health agency.  We provide case management services in prenatal women and infants ages 0-3 years old.  The services include providing education to families regarding childbirth, parenting, and breastfeeding in efforts to reduce the chances of low birth weight, preterm labor, and infant mortality.  Along with education, we link families with services needed in the community by providing local referrals to the appropriate agencies.  The Care Coordinators conduct home visits with the clients and assess for perinatal depression, development milestones, and appropriate healthcare needs.

BSW, MSW (1st-year 2nd year/Advanced Standing (clinical),  full time.  The agency hours are Monday-Friday 9am-5pm, but weekends and evening hours may be optional depending on the client's availability to meet.  There is no stipend available.  The intern will need to obtain liability insurance and travel is not reimbursed.
