Information

Marshfield Medical Center-Minocqua is encompassing a clinic and 14+ bed hospital in Northern Rural Wisconsin.  The department of Community Resources provides Social Work services for not only the Minocqua area but the entire Marshfield Clinic Health System throughout a large portion of rural Wisconsin.  This department is primarily outpatient focused and we serve OB, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, and various specialties including Oncology and Memory Clinic.  We get referrals from providers and other staff as well as direct referrals from patients and families.  We assess needs (psycho-social-economical-health); help direct patients to appropriate community resources; try to facilitate through barriers to care. This might include financial assistance programs; transportation resources; help in the home; domestic violence; child/elder abuse situations. We assist with advance care planning. We partner with many community agencies such as home health, hospice, aging departments, social services, senior centers, etc. and I am a representative for our clinic on several community-based committees.   We see patients/families in person on the Minocqua campus and assist via phone for those unable to meet in person.
