Provide prevention, assessment, intervention and response services designed to enhance student social/emotional well-being, build resilience, encourage respect and acceptance, reduce barriers interfering with learning, and support school achievement.  School social workers are trained mental health professionals who can assist students exhibiting mental health or behavioral at-risk indicators by providing individual and group counseling/therapy as well as consultation with teachers and parents.  School social workers can assist school administrators and leadership teams to implement positive behavioral, academic and classroom supports to promote a safe learning environment.

Special Placement Information

MSW 1st year students,  full-time MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Fulltime.  Although not required all of the time or related to all student intern responsibilities, transportation may be required in cases where the parent is inaccessible to the school.  We do not offer travel reimbursement.
