Morris View Health Care Center is a long-term care facility for seniors and individuals with disabilities, as well as shot-term skilled nursing and therapy.
Most of our residents are in the later years of life, but we do have some residents who are in the age range of 30-50s. 
Social Workers in a long-term care facility assist residents and families with adjustment to being at a long-term care facility, or with dealing with change of a medical status that has brought them to the facility for rehab.
Morrisview contracts with local agencies that come to the facility for psychiatry and psychology. The psychology group consists of one psychologist and two LCSWs who work out of the social service office and provide one-on-one counseling to the residents.

Intern job description:
- Participate as an interdisciplinary team member in daily management team meetings.
- Become familiar with facility and state regulations.
- Learn how to conduct a social history.
- Create and update care plans.
- Create resident progress notes.
- Set up family meetings.
- Become familiar with community resources.
- Assist with discharge planning and setting up home health.

Special placement information:
Accepting BSW and MSW 1st-year students. Full- and part-time positions available.

Agency hours: normal business hours. Weekend hours available.
