Information

Revelations of Freedom Ministries (ROFM) is a Christian, non-profit organization with a mission to lead men in recovery toward lifelong freedom through life skills education, relationship restoration, and a relationship with Jesus Christ.
ROFM's addiction recovery program is a 10-month, low barrier, residential program that provides men (i.e., clients) battling addiction a safe home for the duration of the program.
All adult men are welcome to this program, and ages range from 18-70. Clients are typically referred to the program through family, community members, or the local court system.
ROFM's efforts nurture, facilitate, and empower significant success through a unique, 5-stage program that operates from a holistic perspective. In this program, clients are provided basic necessities, direct assistance, education opportunities (i.e., GED classes, reading/writing assistance, family education, etc.), discipleship resources, and community connections. Clients also work with life coaches (i.e., Social Workers or equivalent credentials), pastors, and certified counselors for clinical services like resource navigation, life-skills education and experience, relationship restoration, group sessions/classes, and limited counseling services.

Intern job description:
Interns will have many opportunities to practice clinical Social Work during their internship.
The following are brief examples of an interns tasks and responsibilities:
Interns will spend much of their time observing counseling sessions with staff and students. As interns become accustomed to the agency, they will also have opportunities to provide counseling themselves, all under the guidance of ROFM' s clinical staff.
Similarly, students will have the opportunity to observe and lead group sessions or classes (i.e., life skills, discipleship, etc.) also under the guidance of ROFM's clinical staff. Students will be responsible for completing case/progress notes, in alignment with ROFM' s practices, for each individual or group session they lead.
Further, interns will have opportunities to observe ROFM's intake sessions. Under the guidance of ROFM's clinical staff, interns will also observe and provide case management services to clients. These services include resource navigation, life skills education, community connections, reconnecting clients with natural supports, and more. Interns will also be expected to attend FEED Day events. During these events, our clients' families visit the facility and are provided education on supporting someone overcoming addiction, as well as an opportunity to spend time with their loved one in the program.
Lastly, ROFM expects students to continuously analyze its program and practices and provide recommendations for improvement based on their fresh and professional perspectives. If applicable to the interns' educational requirements, interns will have opportunities to complete internal analyses on ROFM's intake process, current counseling/life coach model, and program outcomes.
Please note that ROFM strives to offer a flexible workplace that is accommodating to both the needs of its staff and students. This same flexibility will be extended to interns, as ROFM is committed to providing an educational experience that meets the individuals' unique requirements and expectations.
