Agency Description

Samaritan House serves individuals and families who have experienced domestic or sexual violence, human trafficking, or homelessness.  Clients must be over the age of 18 or an emancipated minor.  We do not serve single homeless, on single DV.  We serve men, women, and children.  We have a scattered site model of 14 emergency houses.  Case workers provide services over the 245 hour hotline, in emergency housing, in the courthouse, and in permanent housing.  Case managers are providing crisis intervention, safety planning, budgeting assistance, advocacy and more.  We are not a clinical provider and we do not diagnose or treat mental health diagnoses.  We work with many community partners to meet the client's diverse needs.

Special Information

BSW and MSW 1st Year Only.  Full-time and part-time positions available.  We do not offer a paid internship.  Our office is open from 7 am to 10 pm every day including weekends.  Interns need to complete their hours between 8 am and 6 pm unless otherwise noted.  Transportation is helpful, but not required.  We are close to a bus line.  Audio taping would be more appropriate due to the extreme issue of safety.  Se do offer mileage reimbursement.
