SMA provides mental health and substance abuse treatments for clients in all age ranges. SMA has multiple locations including outpatient centers, residential programs, correctional programs, adolescent programs, outreach, crisis center, case management, and more.
Generalists: BSW and MSW 1st year, MSW 2nd year, Advanced Standing Students (Social Leadership or Clinical), Part-time BSW, Full Time MSW. No Stipends are provided and students need their own transportation. Videotaping is not permitted. Audio taping is permitted at the discretion of the program director. Outpatient services are provided from 8 am to 5 pm. Residential programs are 24/7. Weekend hours may be available depending on the program. Most of our programs are accessible by bus. There are specific requirements that students must complete before being able to start an internship at SMA. These include online training, drug screen, DCF background screen, and paperwork processed through HR.
