Turning Point Community Programs (TPCP) is a non-profit, community-based mental health agency with over 50 programs in 10 northern California counties. We are privileged to serve members of our communities who live with severe and persistent mental health issues, substance use issues and/or cognitive and developmental disabilities. We provide services to all ages, children, families and adults at many different levels of service provision.
Special Placement Information
MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Students, (Clinical) Because TPCP provides services both within programs and out in the community, we require all interns to have transportation, insurance, registration and a California driver’s license. All travel is reimbursed to the interns. We do not offer stipends. We strongly recommend that students have their own liability insurance. We do allow for video and audio taping of sessions with a signed consent from the member. We support interns during the regular workweek, M-F anywhere from 8am-6pm, depending upon the program. We do not offer internships during evening or weekend hours. We require a TB test and a background check during the clearance process.
At any given time, we have 25-30 different clinicians providing clinical supervision to an average of 280 students and associates. Once we determine program placement following the interview process, we will assign a clinical supervisor. We will be able to send all required documents specific to the Clinical Supervisor at that time. All supervisors at MSWs with 2+ year of post graduate experience or are Registered Associates or are licensed.
