Volunteers of America (VOA) assist homeless adults aged 18+ that are individuals diagnosed with a psychiatric disorder.  Most of our participants are dually diagnosed.  Our approach to behavioral health care is holistic person-centered., based on best practices, and focused on positive achievable outcomes.  We provide transitional housing (6 months to 2 years). Case management, life skills training, individual/group mental health/substance abuse counseling, financial literacy education, and interviewing skills.  Participants live on site.  Staff offices are also on site.  Social work students play a vital role at VOA.  We enjoy working with students that are compassionate, non-judgmental and exhibit and unorthodox stance that will allow individuals to live their best life.
