Agency Description:

WinShape Homes (Foster Care) works within the child welfare setting of the state of Georgia. Our primary function is to work with foster families by recruiting, training, licensing and providing support to approved homes to equip them to serve foster children in our community. We also provide case management to the children 0-18 years that are placed in WinShape foster homes in meeting their needs and being an additional voice in the overall partnership of this area of child welfare.

Intern Job Description:
Tasks and responsibilities will include rapport building with prospective foster families, assistance in the initial licensing process to bring families on board, shadowing home visits and foster parent interviewing for licensure, file processing and compilation tasks for initial and reevaluated homes and gaining an understanding of Georgia licensing policies and procedures for foster homes among other things.

Special Information:

This agency accepts part-time MSW students.  Standard office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. Due to the line of work, some evening and weekend hours occasionally occur. Travel reimbursement is provided by agency.
