Craig Stanley Named Interim Dean of FSU College of Social Work

Dr. Craig Stanley, the associate dean for academic affairs and teaching professor for the Florida State University College of Social Work has been appointed as the college’s interim dean.

He stepped into the role in January 2022 after former dean Jim Clark was appointed as FSU’s new provost and executive vice president for academic affairs. Dr. Stanley will lead the college while it begins a nationwide dean’s search.

Social Work Dean Jim Clark named Provost of Florida State University

Florida State University President Richard McCullough announced Monday, December 13th the appointment of Professor and Dean of the College of Social Work James J. Clark as the university’s next provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs.

Clark has served as professor and dean of FSU’s College of Social Work since July 2015. He starts as provost Jan. 3.

FSU Researchers Earn NSF Grant to Transform Libraries into ‘Rural Resiliency Hubs’

The increasing frequency of natural catastrophes and their uneven impact on vulnerable populations calls for the development of disaster Resiliency Hubs. Now, through a grant from the National Science Foundation, a multidisciplinary team of Florida State University researchers is looking to utilize a commonly underrecognized space in disaster response: public libraries.

MSW Student Receives the NASW Consuelo W. Gosnell Memorial Scholarship

This year Margaux Herrera, a master’s student in the College of Social Work’s Online MSW program, was the first student at Florida State University to be awarded the Consuelo W. Gosnell Memorial Scholarship by the National Association of Social Workers. While looking for ways to financially support her social work education, she stumbled onto NASW's scholarships and decided to apply.
