The social work part of our office works with women choosing to privately place their children for adoption.  We offer support groups to women who have placed a child for adoption, assist women in creating a plan that works for them, allocate resources in the community based on their specific needs, provide supportive counseling to women choosing adoption and subsequent grief/loss counseling after placement.  Duties may include intake and assessment, writing reports for the court regarding their choice for adoption, allocating resources such as healthcare, housing, food, clothing and transportation for the duration of their pregnancy.  Ages served include 12-45.  Additional duties may include facilitating communication between adoptive families and birth families taking consent to the adoption and communicating with hospital social workers.  The primary function of this office is to connect birth parents to adoptive parents for the permanent placement of children for adoption.

Special Placement Information

BSW full time, MSW 1st year students, part-time BSW, part-time MSW, and Transportation is preferred.  All students will be reimbursed for travel expenses incurred.  Office hours are 9:00-5:00 with an option of evening hours and on-call 24/7 via text/phone.  Audio and Videotaping not permitted.  Accessible via bus.
