Thunderbolt Counseling Services is a small agency offering family, individual and group counseling to voluntary clients from the Savannah community who primarily have mental health, substance abuse or relationship issues. The fees are kept low so that those with little or no insurance can afford services. We also take several forms of insurance, including Tricare for military members and their families. We have a playroom and offer child therapy in several modalities. We also offer evaluations and anger management for those referred by the court. We see clients from young preschoolers to the elderly. The overall goal of treatment is to restore the individual or family to a functional and satisfying outcome based on their individual needs and goals. We strive to be sensitive to diversity concerns including age, gender, race, SES and special conditions.

Special Placement Information

BSW, MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd Year/Advanced Standing (Social Leadership, Clinical).  Full-time and part-time positions available.  The agency is opened Monday – Friday 9am – 5:00pm with weekend appointments available.  Travel is not reimbursed; the student will need transportation, but we do offer virtual sessions.  A stipend is not available, the student will need liability insurance.  The agency is accessible by the bus but is a walk from the bus stop closest to the agency with the client’s permission recording is permitted.
