Haven Hospice is a non-profit company providing hospice and palliative care services to patients in an 18-county area in North Central Florida.
The majority of our patients are over 65 years of age but roughly 1/4 of hospice patients are under 65 with a small percentage of children requiring services.  Haven has offices in Gainesville, Jacksonville, Deland, Palatka, Orange Park, Lake City, and Chiefland and free-standing Inpatient care centers in Gainesville, Lake City Chiefland, Palatka, and Orange Park. Care is largely provided in patient homes including private residences, assisted living, and long-term care facilities by an interdisciplinary team comprised of nurses, physicians, social workers, chaplains, CNAs, and volunteers.

Special Information:

The Agency is accepting MSW 1st year students, MSW 2nd year and Advanced Standing Clinical students, and Part-time MSW.   It is generally recommended that students have their transportation but arranged for ride-Along could be arranged as well as experience in the inpatient units.  Stipends are not available nor is travel reimbursement. Audio/videotaping is not permitted. Supervision is only available 8:00 am-5:00 pm Monday-Friday. Availability by bus varies with the Haven location.
