Washburn Center for Children s mission is to nurture every child and family s well-being and full potential through transformative care. Through comprehensive assessment, therapy and consultation, Washburn Center helps children and their families and connect to community resources that enable them to be successful in school, at home and within the community. health services to children ages 18 and under and their families from primarily Hennepin and Dakota Counties. Our and racial backgrounds; approximately 65% of children the agency serves come from families with low incomes. We neglect, physical and sexual abuse, out-of-home placement and other traumatic events. Children are referred to Washburn including parent inquiries as well as referrals from daycare centers, schools, doctors, social service agencies.

Special Information Placement:

Part-time BSW and Part-time MSW 
- for community-based placements, transportation is required, for therapeutic group and outpatient internships,
 - travel is reimbursed at the federal rate for anything above and beyond commute to placement
- stipend is not available
- students are covered by Washburn Center's liability coverage
- hours are generally 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM Monday - Friday, weekend and evening hours unavailable
- agency is accessible by bus
