The Gateway Center is a child advocacy and sexual assault center.
We serve the Cordele Judicial Court, which includes Ben Hill, Crisp, Dooly, & Wilcox counties in Georgia. 
We are a non-profit organization providing 24-hour services in the above mentioned counties for all victims of sexual assault.
Gateway serves the immediate, primary needs of the clients including crisis intervention, safe and compassionate forensic medical evaluation, and evidence collection. 
Our populations served include child abuse victims, their non-offending family members, children who have witnessed a violent crime, and adult sexual assault survivors. 
Services include: Forensic Interviews, Forensic Medical Exams, victim advocacy, Trauma Focused CBT, community outreach, and art therapy.

Intern job description:
The Gateway Center offers a variety of roles that a Social Work intern may serve in, including, but not limited to:
- Assisting families with the intake process
- Assisting and/or conducting forensic interviews
- Accompanying client during medical exams
- Managing a small caseload (MSW level)
- Observing therapy sessions (BSW and MSW level)
- Assisting and observing art therapy and group therapy
- Documentation

Special placement information:
Accepting BSW, MSW 1st-year, and MSW 2nd-year/Advanced Standing (clinical) students. Full- and part-time positions available.
Travel to and from facility required. Agency accessible by public transit.
Stipend not available.
Liability insurance required. Must provide documentation.
Video-/Audio-taping permitted with consent.
Agency hours: 8:00AM-5:00PM, Monday-Friday. Non-traditional hours available.
COVID-19 vaccination encouraged, not required.
