Suncoast Kids Place (SKP) provides peer support groups for children and teens, ages 3-18, and their families that have experienced the death of a significant person. The children and teens are divided up into different age groups and meet twice a month. A caregiver groups meets at the same time as most groups. There are group meetings at our locations in Lutz, Brandon, and virtual. As well as groups meeting in schools. SKP also provides Camp Erin Tampa Bay which is a weekend bereavement camp for ages 6-17 and a Family Day Camp.
Special Placement Information:
BSW Full-time, Part-time BSW. Hours: The groups meet Monday – Thursday. Most groups would require an intern to be on-site from 6:00 – 8:30 PM. School groups meet during school hours. The offices are open Monday – Thursday from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Interns are able to stay between office and group time. There will be events that are planned to be on weekends. Transportation: Personal transportation to and from sites is required. Our location is not on the bus route. Travel is not reimbursed. Stipend/reimbursement: This is an unpaid internship. SKP does not require intern to make any purchases for the placement. Video/Audio Recording: Not permitted due to confidentiality and working with minors.
