Youth Crisis Center is a CINS/FINS (Child-in-need-of-services/Families-in-need-of-services) program that provides services to youth 10-17 years old who are, according to Florida Statute 984, truant, ungovernable, running away, or homeless. YCC provides short-term residential shelter services, non-residential and school-based counseling, and case management services to youth and their families, free of charge. Youth cannot be adjudicated, delinquent, or dependent. Our role is to work with youth who are at risk of entering either system to maintain the family unit within a safe environment. YCC provides services to youth in 5 counties within Northeast FL (Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, and St. Johns). YCC added a new program in October 2009 that provides independent living and transitional living services to youth and young adults ages 15-21 who are in the foster care system or have aged out of the system and are homeless. Touchstone Village is a 30-bed group home and 20-unit efficiency apartment complex on YCC’s main campus.
