Increasing HIV/AIDS awareness & prevention.  Providing services including testing, education,resource linkages & advocacy.  Mental health counseling (indv., couples, family and group) to the HIV/AID S&/or LGBTGA population.  This population includes all age ranges, all ethnicities and all sexual orientations.  Social workers can be utilized for indv., couples, family, or group therapy.  They can be trained to administer rapid HIV tests with pre * post test counseling.  They can be utilized to do community outreach, special projects or grant work.

Special Information:

MSW 1st & 2nd year and advanced standing; Full-time & oart-time.  Transportation is helpful, but not necessary if the student has a means to get to the center.  Transportation costs are not reimbursed.  Students need their own professional liability insurance if providing counseling services.  Video & audio taping is not permitted.  Evening & weekend hours are available.  Agency is accessible by bus.  Regular center hours are Mon 10am-7pm, Tues – Fri 9am-6pm, Sat 9am-1pm.  Other hrs are available by appointment.
