The Student Disability Resource Center was established to serve as an advocate for FSU students with disabilities and ensure that reasonalbe accomodation are provided.  As a primary advocate for students with disabilities, the SDRC works with faculty and staff to provided accommodations for the unique needs of students both in and out of the classroom.  The population of registered students varies in age (typically 18 to 45), type of disabilities(visible/invisible, congenital/acquired), and social workers will gain insight into technology that applies to access, services and provision for accommodations, academic support resources and strategies for working one on one with students in their academic needs for access as college students.  Social workers can gain kowledge about the different types of disabilities within the population of college aged environment.

Special Information:

BSW & MSW 1st & 2nd Year/Advanced Standing; Clinical and SPAFull time  and Part time available.  No stipend available.  It is highly suggested that students have liability insurance, but the agency will provide a confidentiality statement for access to working in SDRC.  No video taping is permitted, Hours are typically M-F, 8-5pm and the agency is located on FSU campus. It would be helpful to interview applicants for a placement in this agency prior to making any formal training commitments.
